MFI Segovia -- 2004 Breeder's Choice Auction

Segovia’s dam Spring Willow is beige in color, but we know that she is capable of throwing dark colors such as black. When bred to Arcuta’s Jackpot (a crimpy black male) she produced Special Jackpot, a spectacular black female who sold in our 2001 Breeders ChoiceTM Auction to Skyeview Alpacas. When we bred Spring Willow to MFI Scimitar our goal was to get a dark color with density, fineness, and excellent crimp. This is exactly what we created with MFI Segovia.

With a sire like MFI Scimitar, whose show-stopping grey fleece is pictured here, it is no surprise that Segovia’s fleece has such excellent character. Segovia’s pedigree also has some incredible names in it: accoyo Peruvian Leon, NWA LTD Sunshine (the dam of the famous grey male Shaquille, co-owned with Fleecy Dale Alpacas), and CPeruvian Silvio.

Segovia's fleece is very soft with beautiful crimp and we feel her color background makes her a fabulous stepping stone to black or rose-grey. The best grey and black fleeces often incorporate other colors in their pedigree which tend to have better character and density than traditional grey and black. MFI Segovia is just waiting for someone to take the next step, and she sells with a free breeding to a Magical Farms herdsire, so the choice is yours. Breed her for black, silver-grey, or rose-grey… the results should be incredible!
