Accoyo Moonglow -- 2004 Breeder's Choice Auction

Accoyo and grey suris are the most rare specimens of the suri type. Here is an extremely rare accoyo bloodline by accoyo Peruvian Ix-Chel. We purchased Ix-Chel from Double Play Alpacas over four years ago, and one of our primary reasons for purchasing the herd was their incredible selection of elite studs, both suris and huacayas.

Unfortunately, Ix-Chel ate the poisoned Land O’ Lakes feed last spring, so we are using him sparingly and saving him for the best females. NGG Moondance, a full accoyo female formerly owned by Nola Graham, certainly qualified -- if there is any doubt in your mind, take a look at the 2003 Breeder’s Choice auction catalog. Accoyo Moonshine, another accoyo Moondance daughter, who sold for a well-deserved $61,000. She went on to win First Place and Color Champion the next day in the 2003 Customer Appreciation Futurity!

A challenge with accoyo suris is that there are not a lot of accoyo lines in North America. MFI Peruvian Accoyo Moonglow represents an extremely rare line from Ix-Chel, and she can be bred to many of the other accoyo suri lines with confidence.
